As the youngest of 5 kids I saw this first hand. 3 of my older siblings went to private schools where very wealthy kids went. My other older brother and I went to public schools and not very good ones. The older 3 kids had by all accounts, more wealth and better jobs than my other brother and I did.

Absolutely true, my privilege got me amazing jobs when folks moved to a much much nicer neighborhood the advantages my brother had got him even further. We both worked really hard to get where we were but our starting points were different.
