10 people shot in 10 shootings in 24 hours in Portland

The Portland Police Bureau said 10 people were injured in 10 shootings in the city in less than 24 hours beginning early Friday morning.

If you would have told me 10 years ago, that this was happening I wouldn't have believed you. It used to be safe and clean, no one bothering me at 2 AM in the morning Downtown. Voting out that Town Council, is the only answer at this point.

I've lived in Portland for 38 years and it's never been anything like this. Defund the Police movement completely backfired and now the police simply can't hire enough new officers. Who would want to be a cop when city council has it out for you. We're now paying an additional tax that suppossedly going towards cleaning up the homeless situation - we'll see if that works.

Welcome to woketopia!! Things will only continue to get worse especially since there are some 90 police officers who will be eligible for retirement by the end of summer. My guess is the bulk of them will take that pension money & move on to other places & career paths in which they aren’t hated by most everyone they meet daily.

Wow. I remember when the only crime that I'd heard of in Portland was the occasional guy that went crazy and started eating people or some rejected teen shooting up a school. Now, Portland is the mini "South Central Chiraq in the Bronx".

I live near Portland and have been at events where antifa blm and others showed up, they were either attacking Police or oddly at times Police were actually helping them. But there is an active culture of violence in Portland and it has a form of its own Government and it is empowering others to follow their lead.
