With a crucial decision ahead to strengthen their offensive line, the Bears have two intriguing candidates: Drew Dalman of the Atlanta Falcons and Ryan Kelly of the Indianapolis Colts. We'll dive deep into each player’s career stats, playing style, physical attributes, college background, and how they could help anchor the Bears' offensive line for years to come.

Drew Dalman (Atlanta Falcons) - Bears' Potential Center in 2025

College: Stanford University
NFL Draft: 4th Round, 114th overall (2021 NFL Draft)
Career Stats: Drew Dalman has played 13 games and started 11 for the Atlanta Falcons. He’s known for his quick footwork and elite pass protection, which has helped him become a steady starter despite entering the league just a few years ago. Dalman’s ability to quickly adjust to NFL competition showcases his potential.
Playing Style: Dalman is an agile, technically sound center with excellent mobility, making him ideal for teams that rely on quick, high-tempo offenses. His ability to control defenders in pass protection, combined with a developing run-blocking game, could be a perfect fit for the Bears as they continue to rebuild their offensive line.

Chicago Bears Latest Roster Moves – Impact on 2025 Plans
In addition to exploring the Bears' future options at center, we also discuss the latest Chicago Bears roster moves that could influence their 2025 strategy.

DeAndre Carter on IR: The Bears placed return specialist DeAndre Carter on Injured Reserve (IR). Carter has been a vital part of the Bears’ special teams unit, providing excellent kick return skills. With Carter now on IR, the Bears will have to rely on other players to step up in the return game while also considering new potential recruits for the special teams.

Jonathan Ford Added to the 53-Man Roster: Jonathan Ford, the defensive lineman, has been signed to the Bears’ 53-man roster. Known for his size and run-stuffing ability, Ford adds significant depth to the Bears' defensive line rotation, providing a physical presence up front and a potential for long-term growth as part of the defensive rebuild.

Royce Freeman Joins Bears Practice Squad: Royce Freeman, a veteran running back, has been signed to the Bears’ practice squad. Freeman brings valuable experience and could serve as a depth piece in the backfield while helping the Bears’ offense prepare for future matchups. His presence on the practice squad offers a solid fallback option for the team as they continue evaluating their roster.

These moves are a sign that the Bears are focusing on strengthening their team not only for the 2024 season but also with a long-term vision towards 2025 NFL roster building.

I've been preaching "get a center" for a few years! A high priority need!

I appreciate you asking for acts of kindness towards those that are less fortunate. I think the bear should draft a center rather than go for another guy who is proven and then ends up getting hurt or not playing up to the potential. I hope that makes sense. I’d rather go young in every aspect, but I understand that not every position can be filled through the draft.

We did sign Ricky Stromberg from the Commanders. He's on the practice squad recovering. I think he has a shot of getting the job. 3rd round pick in 23.

Ryan Kelly on a 2-year deal. Proven guy, can help be a coach on the field as well as a player.

I like giving Stromberg a chance if he’s healthy. Although an experienced center would be better with Caleb.

I'm genuinely curious about Stromberg... he was highly touted coming out of college 2 years ago

All the starting offensive lineman for the Bears are above average, if you looked at the numbers. Unfortunately the backups are not good and there's been a lot of injuries. Plus Caleb holding onto the ball over 3 seconds on many of his attempts isn't helping, but that should hopefully get better with experience. O-Line is well above average at pass protection, unfortunately not near as good at run blocking but a lot of that was Waldron's scheme.

Give me Drew. Dude seems legit and good to have a veteran on the OL if we take rookies earlier in the draft

It depends if we get Trey Smith. If we don't, need a veteran on that line. I'd go through FA if that's the case.

I'd be down for the guy from ATL. But for the right price considering he's been injured

Dalman would be the ideal option IF his injury won't be an issue moving forward. We seem to have too many issues with injuries on the offensive line, but CENTER is the most important position to fill on this team IMO.
