The Chicago Bears are entering a crucial offseason, and one of their top priorities is rebuilding the offensive line to protect their new franchise quarterback, Caleb Williams. With Darnell Wright emerging as the standout player on the line, the Bears must focus on upgrading the interior and tackle positions. Here’s a breakdown of potential targets for the 2024 season across center, guard, and tackle spots.

Current Standout: Darnell Wright
Position: Right Tackle
Height/Weight/Age: 6'5", 335lbs, 23 y/o
Pass Block Grade: 75.5 (31st)
Run Block Grade: 80.2 (11th)
Sacks Allowed: 6
Penalties: 7 Darnell Wright has been the lone consistent performer on the Bears’ offensive line. His ability to block in the run game and his solid pass protection make him a key building block for the future, locking down the right tackle spot.

Guard Options:
Trey Smith (Kansas City Chiefs)
Height/Weight/Age: 6’6”, 321lbs, 25 y/o
Overall Grade: 77.6 (14th)
Run Block Grade: 80.2 (9th)
Sacks Allowed: 0
Penalties: 9
Trey Smith is an elite guard, and if he hits free agency, he should be a top priority for the Bears. With 1,050 snaps and zero sacks allowed this season, Smith would provide a significant upgrade to the interior line. Expect a hefty price tag around $25 million, but he could be the foundation of a much-improved line.

Mekhi Becton (Philadelphia Eagles)
Height/Weight/Age: 6’7”, 363lbs, 25 y/o
Overall Grade: 77 (28th)
Run Block Grade: 77
Sacks Allowed: 3
Penalties: 4
Becton, who has primarily played tackle, could be a solid option for the guard position. At a more affordable price than Smith, he’s worth considering if Smith remains with the Chiefs. His performances over the remainder of the season will be key in determining his market value.

Center Options:
Drew Dalman (Atlanta Falcons)
Height/Weight/Age: 6’3”, 300lbs, 26 y/o
Overall Grade: 85.3 (4th)
Run Block Grade: 89.1 (4th)
Sacks Allowed: 2
Penalties: 1
Dalman ranks as one of the top centers in the league, particularly excelling in run blocking. If he becomes available, he would be an excellent addition to the Bears' offensive line and provide stability at the center position.

Ryan Kelly (Indianapolis Colts)
Height/Weight/Age: 6’4”, 307lbs, 31 y/o
Overall Grade: 63.7 (26th)
Pass Block Grade: 70.3 (12th)
Sacks Allowed: 1
Penalties: 1
A veteran presence, Kelly could serve as a short-term solution for the Bears at center. He would provide immediate stability while the Bears continue to build the offensive line for the future.

Tackle Options:
Ronnie Stanley (Baltimore Ravens)
Height/Weight/Age: 6’6”, 315lbs, 30 y/o
Overall Grade: 68.4
Pass Block Grade: 77.6
Sacks Allowed: 2
Stanley has been solid in pass protection, but his high number of pressures allowed is concerning. The Bears may explore him as a potential option if they are unsure about Braxton Jones' future with the team. However, his pressure numbers could be a red flag.

Alaric Jackson (Los Angeles Rams)
Height/Weight/Age: 6’7”, 285lbs, 26 y/o
Overall Grade: 79
Pass Block Grade: 79.2
Sacks Allowed: 3
Penalties: 7
Jackson is a young, promising tackle who has impressed in both pass protection and run blocking. With fewer pressures allowed than other top candidates, Jackson could be a great fit for the Bears’ left tackle spot if they decide to move on from Braxton Jones.

Cam Robinson (Jacksonville Jaguars)
Height/Weight/Age: 6’6”, 335lbs, 29 y/o
Overall Grade: 64.1
Pass Block Grade: 72.6
Sacks Allowed: 6
Penalties: 11
Robinson could be a short-term answer at left tackle. However, his high number of pressures and penalties make him a risky option for a long-term solution. A one-year deal could make sense to address the position in the short term.

Conclusion: The Chicago Bears have a major opportunity to strengthen their offensive line this offseason, especially with their new franchise quarterback Caleb Williams ready to take over. With Darnell Wright anchoring the right side, the Bears should target top free agents like Trey Smith, Drew Dalman, and Alaric Jackson to solidify the line and give Williams the protection he needs to thrive in 2024. The offseason is critical in reshaping the Bears’ trenches and setting the team up for future success.

Exactly why you put Tevin Jenkins back at RG them two was killing that right side together. The bears can do a short term deal with tevin. There not getting nobody better on free agency . The good ones don't get let go. Bears release Tevin Jenkins they will regret it.

The Bears drafting Darnell right before I moved here piqued my interest enough to keep up with them. If they got Trey on top of this? Boy I'd feel like I'm back home again bahaha.

Dude's a beast on the field and the nicest guy off. Would love to see him playing in Soldier (or the new stadium) on Sundays the next few years!

I like the guards you highlighted. Either one would be a great addition. I would also try to get Kevin Zeitler from Detroit especially if Ben Johnson is the new HC. Zeitler is older but can play both guard positions.

Honestly I really don't care how we fix the trenches. They just need to get it done! ASAP! Of course I'd love to build threw the draft but only have so many pics, cap room ect. I know the defense still needs work but ill loose my mind if they don't go more oline needs.

Well, Williams would like 5 seconds in the pocket like he had in college (what qb doesn't?), but this is the pros and he ain't getting that. However, giving him a couple more ticks and some depth for that o-line will have to do.
Nic, I think you are very brave to wear that outfit in front of a camera. I would definitely not do that. lol
Merry Christmas to all!
What I'd like for Christmas is Johnson as our new HC and I'm willing to wait for a couple of months to get him.
