STORYLINE:
An Israeli drone strike early Thursday in Lebanon killed a militant leader of the Sunni al-Jamaa al-Islamiya, or the Islamic Group, Lebanese state media reported.

The state-run National News Agency said the drone fired a rocket at Mohammad Jabbara while he was driving a pickup truck in a village in the Western Bekaa area, not far from the Syrian border.

This comes as Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah group have been exchanging fire on an almost daily basis since early October, after the start of the Israel-Hamas war.

The Islamic Group is a political and militant group in Lebanon whose armed wing, the Fajr Forces, has also attacked northern Israel alongside its allies Hezbollah and Hamas.
