'Final moments' of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar captured on drone footage

A drone video showed a man wrapped in a scarf inside a ruined Gaza apartment in what the Israeli military said was footage of the Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar shortly before his death.

He had a wounded hand and was seen throwing a stick at the drone.

IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari said the Israeli military then fired an additional shell at the building, causing it to collapse and killing Sinwar.

Sinwar was seen as the mastermind of the October 7 attack on Israel.

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sinwar’s death offered the chance of peace in the Middle East but warned that the war in Gaza was not over and Israel would continue until its hostages were returned.

They said he ran away to Qatar. Then they said he’s using civilians as human shields. Then they said he is living a life of luxury, then he’s hiding in under ground tunnel. It is not as they lied and said that he uses prisoners as human shields and hides underground. We have not seen Sinwar kill a single child or use civilians as the occupying army did by killing more than 50, 000 children. Even after they found a wounded fighter exhausted from the battle, they were overcome with cowardice by entering the building and fighting, or they destroyed the entire building with tank shells for the sake of one wounded person (the owner of the land and the owner of the right is always brave).
