The Car that Saved Renault - Renault 19 | Nostalgia Nerd

This isn't just on a whim. I've been hankering to make a car video for ages, and now it's complete, I'm pleased I've done it. I have no idea how well it's going to go down with my subscriber base, but that's not the point. This was a labour of love, and I really enjoyed making it. It was nice to delve into something that isn't computers for a change. It was also nice to get outside and do some "proper" filming.

Anyway, even if it's not your thing, I hope you at least get something from it. Normal service to resume from the next video.

With thanks to my daughter for her excellent drone piloting skills.

This video took a tonne of time and effort, so I hope you enjoyed it. If you want more car content I suggest checking out Big Car (nnerd.es/BigCar). Also, I don't usually ask this, but if you happen to enjoy my content please consider subscribing and clicking the bell icon. I've been told many times recently that my videos aren't showing up in notifications anymore, which is a little disheartening! Thanks for watching, see you soon!

I just want to say how much I respect the fact that you made a video about something that's outside the usual purview of your show because it's something that you're currently excited about.

Thanks for the shout out! Does this mean I'll have to start doing computer videos now? 😉

What a superb documentary! The 19 was the car from my childhood back here in Brazil.
Ours was a 1994 metallic green 1.8 RT Saloon and it was our first and 'til this day only new car.
Thank you for bring back so many sweet memories!

Shit you're the guy who outbid me on eBay for it? I was the one who bid it to £530 then woke up and saw someone had outbid me by £5. I was gonna bid higher but the seller told me it had literally 0 paperwork and needed the carb tuning. That's pretty awesome lol

It's interesting that my favorite old tech youtubers (Techmoan, VWestlife, and you) all share a significant interest in cars as well

The title made me think this is a Big Car upload.

Definetly more Quentin Wilson than Jeremy Clarkson with your car features Sir :D
(Unless you punched Piers Morgan during a deleted scene or something)

As a huge car enthusiast and also fellow nerd of all things electronic, AV and gaming I whole heartedly mean it when I tell you this is one of the BEST videos I’ve ever seen on YouTube. Amazing work man!

It's really nostalgic you mentioning that a quick removing feature for your stereo was a must have back in the days given how common it was for thieves back then to break your window for it if it was shiny enough. My dad had one of those. He passed away a few days ago. I miss you dad.

The R19 was also my first car and I still love it's design. Thank you for making this, enjoyed every minute!

Imagining a younger Nostalgia Nerd cruising around in an old R5 is melting my wine soaked french heart.

Loving the vaporwave feel of this. The fact that my parents owned a 1993 1.4 efi burgundy one just adds to the nostalgia factor. Great video, please do more of this car related stuff.

What a great video. My dad had Renaults when I was a kid, so I grew up with the brand. A couple of Renault 25's, 4 different Espace, Safrane and an Avantime. My first car was a Renault 9 GTS in red, just like the one in the video. Brilliant bit of nostalgia!

Nice video, well done! I still have my '92 16V which I bought in 2004. Now almost 30 years old but still going strong. I will keep it forever.
