I found it funny at the Spanish GP, when people were saying, "this puts the sabotage theories to rest". If anything, to me, it only amplifies them. If someone is suspected of doing something dodgy or underhanded, they're not going to immediately continue at the next possible event, they're going to take cover and wait for the heat to die down - and all of the sudden - Lewis gets his first real podium of the season (excluding the Chinese Sprint weekend). To me, this only adds to the theory that there is/was sabotage going on. If there has been sabotage, it'll be interesting to see if Lewis from this point forward til the end of season continues to outperform George or whether it'll kick up again after the summer break.

Lewis Hamilton is not the first F1 racing driver that was subjected to the dirty tricks of the sport, and will most certainly not be the last either.
Question here should rather be: Why is Mercedes and Toto Wolff the first ever to involve police into an investigation of the matter? Who are they trying to scare away from the obvious dangers of sending a racing driver out into a race on cold tyres?
Maybe they are afraid of being subjected to an investigation themselves, because, as you've mentioned, they have subjected one of their employees to the proverbial death trap.
There is a huge fan base of long-term enthusiasts that are also aware of all the aspects that you have mentioned here, and who have also witnessed the same practise being employed to other F1 racing driver's in the past.
As an employee of the Mercedes team, we know that you are aware of these tactics, and we appreciate you exposing the truth with this email.
