I'm really excited for NaNoWriMo! I'm a young Nerdfighter and I've never even written a novel before, only unfinished short stories, so I'm thinking this is going to be a great challenge for me! I'm glad you're going to be joining in on NaNoWriMo as well! :)

this comment is like 8 years and a couple months too late, but i think what josh is saying is not that you can't come up with a good story in a month, it's that you can't write an entire book ready to be published in a month.

"No great book can be written in a month?" Ray Bradbury's first version of Fahrenheit 451 was completed in just 9 days. NaNoWriMo can be done. You just need an editor to save your soul and sanity afterwards.

So yeah, this is the first vlogbrothers video I have watched on the day of release. I'm finally caught up with everything. I've watched all the videos and finally signed up over at the ning. Thank you John and Hank for making my year worthwhile.

I won my first NaNoWriMo in 2013, but only barely. I am extremely bad with discipline, and so on the 27th of November I had only 24, 000 words. Guess who had to pull an all-nighter and write for 48 hours straight with almost no rest? I did. But I won, so that's all that matters. I even managed to get in my town's newspaper to talk about my experience in NaNo! I'm revising right now, and I have more than a few close friends who are successful authors who will be helping me get the book published when it's done. I'm a little stressed out because I'm only fourteen, but sharing my stories with the world is worth it, right?

Thank you for being such an inspiration to me and to hundreds of other young writers, especially those of us who participate in NaNoWriMo every year!!
