Just *imagine* what Pokemon could be if given to passionate, competent devs with the proper amount of time. Imagine if Bandai Namco took over publishing and used their dev teams - the amount they've done for Digimon games with such little budget is truly insane. With Pokemon levels of money, they could easily develop essentially what is Pokemon Arceus with the polish and fidelity of Pokemon Snap.

I've been playing this, currently grinding my way through research to get to the end of the postgame. This is the first time I saw someone sum up my experience with the game, like it's "different" but it's not really THAT different and it feels like I've allowed myself to be gauged out of nostalgia for what is still basically a game of "catch a ton of animals including the ones we made it impossible to find/evolve without looking up a walkthrough." At the very least I'm gonna need a bonkers landscape and/or some kind of terrible tragic ghost pokemon story to lure me back next time.

Once again, gamers complain they get the bare minimum, and then celebrate when pokemon gives them the bare minimum. It's a vicious cycle that GameFreak has ZERO incentive to break so long as people keep buying their half-assed games. Thank you for being honest! Also yes, amazing Ash voice.

I haven’t watched Pokémon for a long time. I had pretty much forgotten what Ash sounds like, but this brought me directly back to when I was five years old, watching the first few episodes of Jhoto and seeing heracross get captured by Ash on my tiny box tv in my basement. Bravo to you for making a ash impression so good, that it can immediately bring back a forgotten childhood memory.
