There needs to be a LOVE button along with up or down. This is completely beautiful! I just listened to the whole album. Richie has turned himself inside out, so we can see his head, heart and soul at this moment in time. And he has somehow pushed himself lyrically, instrumentally, vocally and songwriting-wise. Lyrically it is nihilistic but sonorically it is bright thus positive and optimistic. The harmony contrasts to the dark lyric which adds an ambiguity causing the listener to question the overall meaning of the piece and relisten to the track. The persona continues to question their existence while the track ends with a bright solo which would seem like it needs an additional double period phrase to draw a conclusion yet it abruptly ends to a resolved tonic, this resolving the melody but leaving the overall questions of the track open.
