This was such a fantastic idea! Barbie herself would most certainly approve, since (in the early movies especially) she'd always end the credits with a quote detailing the lesson that she would want kids to take away from the story, and you guys are detailing your favorite ones! Delancey's redemption def. stands out as a highlight from Princess Charm School, because you can tell that her original nastiness in the beginning was more of an extension from Dame Devin's way of raising her, and less of who she was as a person. Her saying "I want what's right, " is indeed powerful, and Blair naming her as a Lady Royal could also be seen as her way of telling Delancey that she wants to pursue a friendship with her. The message of Mariposa has always been meant a lot to me, since I can relate to her feeling socially awkward and choosing to devote her time to her hobbies rather than go to parties with people she doesn't know. But that doesn't make her place in the world any less meaningful, and the fact that she uses that lesson to find the antidote was so well done. Liana and Alexa singing together to bring back the Diamond Castle was always a favorite scene of mine too, and Annika's realization of how she couldn't use the Wand of Light to fight hate with hate was cool too. And how even though several of the apprentices gave Elina a hard time throughout the movie, they were able to put aside those differences and do what they had been chosen to do: to work together as one, unified under one goal.

I also wanted to point out that I loved being able to point out the dolls in Shannon's background, especially when I realized Clara was sitting on Eric's lap XD.

I also wanted to say that I love how both Nutcracker and Swan Lake had Clara and Odette find the courage within themselves to defeat their respective villains. When Clara first set out on her adventure, she started out by relying on the supposed powers of the Sugar Plum Princess to restore everything to normal. But the more she saw from the effects of the Mouse King's rule, and the more she understood the Nutcracker, the more she wanted to help. This is especially shown after her friends are captured, because for a moment, she considered going home, but immediately decided against it and knew she had to help. Because of that realization, the fairies came to her aid and provided her transportation to the castle. So by the end of the movie, she becomes the Sugar Plum Princess as reward for her bravery and growth of character. Despite originally looking up to a powerful figure for help, she became her own hero, as does Odette. Odette didn't think she was brave enough to become the savior the Enchanted Forest needed, even with Lila assuring her that she was braver than she thought. With the power of the crystal to protect her, it provided the comfort she needed to become more confident in herself, allowing her to protect Prince Daniel against Rothbart's power. But even so, she still didn't think she was worthy enough to become a love interest to the prince, and I love how the Fairy Queen assures her by saying how much her kindness, laughter, and bravery are worth. By the end of the movie, even without the crystal, Odette's love for Daniel and her determination to stop Rothbart are stronger than her fear, so she throws herself in the path of his power regardless. Both of these movies were great ways to show girls that they have the power to become their own heroes, because the love and inner-bravery they carry in their hearts are stronger than fear.
