I found another way to solve these types of probably; I hope this way could help others too!

So, 2/3x +5=14
First, I would multiply everything by the denominator which is "3.
So 3× 2/3x= 6/3x. This becomes 2x
Next, work on the constants 5x3= 15 and 14×3=42.
Since the 15is a positive, you would subtract 15from 42, which is 27.

Answer is X=27/2.
