If your van has DPF ( diesel particulate filter ) it is the self cleaning action of the DPF, the system put diesel in to the DPF and ignites it to clean out the DPF which makes the vehicle smoke .

It’s a verse in the Bible “ Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies” Proverbs 31 verse 10.

As Scotland has a reputation for being wet and windswept it's easy to forget just how many beautiful beaches it has. The cave was awesome too!

Hi Dan it will be your turbo. Oil going through your turbo & down the exhaust. The oil at the end of your exhaust will be going on to the body & going up & down the body. Be careful reving it to hard as the engine may go onto self-destruct on it’s own engine oil

When I first bought my van, it had been stood in storage for some time. A very minor oil leak had dropped onto the exhaust, so as I drove home from the buyer I saw plumes of white smoke in my mirrors. I've not seen this again in 3 years. When I get it MOT'd they sometimes mention a minor leak, but it's not enough to be worried about. Just monitor your oil level.

Glow plugs are an integral part of the regen process. If they are not working efficiently, then it will affect the soot burn off. I believe when it smokes, it is trying to do a regen. If you stop, then this interrupts the regen process. It's very smoky, but it might need it and may clear it for a time. I believe if this is the case, it will probably be okay until you get it to the garage after your trip. In general, short trips aren't good for your dpf it needs motorway speeds to burn off the soot build up. The oil or fuel build-up is most likely a totally separate issue. As it's small, I wouldn't think it's a problem. Im not a mechanic. it's just that I've got a few cars and many in the past, and I've had this before. Not to say this is what's happening in your case, but it does seem that way. All the best, Dave.

Hi dan I’m a hgv mechanic, turn your tunnit box down to 3, its dpf causing it to smoke doing itself regen
I had same box on my last motor home was doing exactly the same
Didn’t look like engine oil underneath perhaps fuel from the filler pipe

Hi Dan it the turbo oil going through the turbo and out the exhaust if you don’t get it sorted you will lose all your power

I know people are saying it’s your turbo but it could also be a split in your intercooler pipe as well had this on our Land Rover and it did exactly the same as what it’s doing with yours. Great vlog as always ❤❤❤

Forget the scenery, we armchair mechanics are more interested in the van. Important obviously to keep checking your fluids daily. Get Mazzy to rev the engine in neutral while you watch the end of exhaust pipe. The important thing to ascertain is does the smoke come from inside of the exhaust pipe or just dripping onto it from underbody only. It seems to increase with revs suggesting possibly that oil which is under pressure is feeding the leak eg turbo seal leak. Get a flashlight and do a careful visual check of the back of engine. Most concerning here would be a leak from turbo oil feed pipe or turbo drain pipe. If you know how, check the air filter is not dirty or blocked. The other possibility is gearbox oil leaking around axle shaft seal and blowing back. Look where the axle shaft goes into gearbox. If you film some of this, we may be able to give better advice. Good luck.

Wow loved the huge cave and waterfall amazing definitely need to go there.
Thanks for showing these amazing places in Scotland. Need to get out of Aberdeenshire and start exploring. Was thinking could it be your sump thats causing the oil leak? Not sure though
