YouTube shorts is broken. The algorithm is ridiculous and punishes both creators and viewers. Garbage content with bad stats gets promoted, good content with good stats gets ignored.

I use my shorts to increase subscribers and exposure, my community posts to create a connection and announce new stuff and I put my extra energy into my videos to grow my channel. It's working for me so far 😊

Here a small tipp if you do shorts you can link a comment with a long form video in the comment section of the video or a link to ur channel page. That way you can transform some if the short views into additional regular views. Its not much but me for example I got s viral short with 1.8 mil views and the linking really help to get some watch time

I have an interesting question. My videos wait 6 hours to get any views but it gets several thousand in the span of an hour after that. This is my question: My previous video got 2.4k views with a 69% retention rate, but that % shoely crawled it's way to 90% over the next few hours without ever making it to 2.5k. Can I just not trust the statistics at all until some time has passed?
