What are you using to control your smart products? Alexa or Google Home? I'm just beginning and it seems that Alexa right now has the most direct and fluid compatibility and integration with almost everything. Google Home setup for some products requires some additional work. No real deal breakers, but being "smart" out of the box seems much better :) I think in a year or so, Google Home will catch up. Thoughts?

Went into a bit too much detail with that smart toilet section rofl 😂. I think the august door lock would definitely be something that I'd love to get, hate having to carry around keys and look for them when I lose them. The nest thermostat does look pretty great too, would love to get one in the future! Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I recently got the August lock (with the remote add-on) and I'm liking it a lot. as much as I like the look of the nest, I went with the ecobee thermostat. Such an awesome UI (even gives you the daily/weekly weather forecast!).

Horrible idea to give an app access to your home !!! That means the app developer has access to your home, ANY government Agency has easy access to your home, If you use Alexa even Amazon can open your door and Hackers can get in. Remember not all people or employees are good people!!
I have a smart home but not connected to my alarm which is HARD wired (wireless is easy to defeat) and NOT connected to my doors!! Lights, Thermostat, Blinds, TV/Cable, Doorbell, and Air quality sensor Only.
