Did you know that if you have a stroke, you have up to a 50% chance of developing depression?

Post-stroke depression is often underdiagnosed and undertreated.
You are more likely to experience depression after a stroke if your mobility is reduced, your thinking is confused, and you don’t have strong support from family and friends. At the Stanford Stroke Center, we have a dedicated social worker who specializes in this part of your post-stroke care, guiding you every step of the way.
If you feel you are experiencing post-stroke depression, contact your stroke specialist or primary care doctor.
