BEST GREEK BEACHES BY CAMPER VAN // Vanlife Greece

About Vantastic: We are a happy couple who got rid of everything to travel the world. We make vlogs sharing our daily lives in a camper van, our ups and downs, and our adventures around Europe.

What camera equipment do you use?
We use GoPro10, Røde VideoMicro with a dead kitten, Ulanzi tripod mt-16, Ulanzi cage G9, Ulanzi vl49 light, DJ Mavic Pro drone and Adobe Premiere Pro to edit the vlogs. Our electrical power set-up in our camper van allows charging our camera and laptops to film and edit.

What is your van?
Our camper van is Fiat Ducato 2015, Adria Twin conversion panel van. We have done only minor upgrades and mods to our camper van, we pretty much love it as it is.

How do you afford your nomadic lifestyle?
We live on a true shoestring budget. We travel economically, we cook all our meals, we dont visit tourist traps, we enjoy being in the nature and hiking in the nature. We worked traditional office jobs for years and now we live on our savings and investments. We dont believe you need tons of money to to pursue your passion. However, we have learned that you do need to sacrifice comfort, consistency and safety, but that it is possible, very worth it, and the only lifestyle that makes us truly happy!

I am Greek, Halkidiki, Sithonia is part of it, has a reputation for outstanding natural beauty. Locals have even made a joke or it: A local man died, God told him, you were a good man in your life, so I will allow you to enter in paradise and live there in beauty for the eternity. God took him into paradise to show him how beautiful it was. The man was shaking his head disappointed and thought: oh, how much I am going to miss the beauty of Halkidiki🤣🤣🤣

People parking right beside you when there's heaps of space around! Especially German people, which we experienced recently here in NZ at 2.00 am when a very LOUD young German couple parked literally half a metre from us when there was 200 hectares available, then talked and laughed very loudly for a couple of hours. I got my revenge at 6, 30am when I knocked loudly on their door and proceeded to have a good 'chat' with them about consideration for others! 😂Same thing happens here when people anchor their boat in a bay right beside you when the bay is empty! In New Zealand, we call it 'The Herding Instinct". 😂 Loved seeing all that beautiful turquoise water! Thanks for sharing. Cheers

There is a saying in Greece, that goes somehow like this: "Like Halkidiki, no where", or if you want to say it in Greek: "San tin Halikdiki, den ehei".

We’ve been wild camping in Greece for many years with my wife and absolutely love it – especially Halkidiki. After a break (our daughter was born and Covid happened), we’re finally planning a return. But we’ve heard there’s a new law in 2025 banning wild camping and that fines of €300 are being issued.
Do you have any recent experience with this? Is wild camping still possible in some places, or has enforcement become really strict? Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks a lot and safe travels!

Hi... nice video, thank you... There is a law passed recently and law bans camping on beaches, in other words law allows camp with our campervans only in paid camper stops, am I right?

Have you been visiting Lefkada, Nidri, etc.? Great beaches there too and great scenery. Porto Katsiki is a stunning beach in Lefkada. The colour of the water is unbelievable. I've never come across a beach with such a colour.
