I worked in the flooring department at lowes. Had a crunchy mom ask if there was any floor that didn’t contain some complex chemical. I looked it up and it was a very common binding agent used in artificial floors.

I went back to her and said the only flooring we have that wouldn’t possibly have that is natural hardwood and tile. She didn’t want hardwood or tile she wanted vinyl. It definitely had that chemical. I asked why she couldn’t have floor with that chemical. She said her son may have a reaction to the floor. I gave her samples of everything and told her the only way to really know is to experiment by rubbing the samples on him and seeing what happens. I got a talking to the next week. Saw her buying the vinyl flooring a month later.
