I am also from Haryana. In our village, we recently collect 50lakh+ as donations for building an Indore mat Akhada, and last month the project got completed. And near villages children also come for the training. When we start collecting donations we think we can't collect that much amount but many old armies veterans and others donate very generously for the cause. ❤

I am so surprised to see this. Haryana is a very little state in India with small number of population. But their achievement is huge in international sports events. I think their sports culture is stronger than others.

Why cant every indian state choose a sport and provide world class facilities for that one sport and its athletes, just like Haryana is doing for wrestling or Odisha for hockey. This would not only be very doable but also very uniting as all indians athletes will come to that state for training.

Everyone has a dream of army here in South Haryana, wrestling is not common in districts like some parts of Bhiwani, Dadri, Mahendergarh, Narnaul, Rewari. Specially Rewari is hub of army..

Simple reason is that people from that state care about sports. Rest of India, don't care about sports. It comes from parents and culture. Also somewhat of what you said in your video.

I have lived in both Haryana and Punjab for a long time and here is what I observed.

👁‍🗨Both Haryanvis and Punjabis are equally well built and mentally tough but Haryana has a far better state support for athletes.

👁‍🗨Along with the state support, there is also a well cultivated sports culture in Haryana at a societal level (both rural and urban)

👁‍🗨 Punjabis have long moved to a modern diet whereas most Haryanvis, even those living in urban parts, still value traditional whole grain and milk based diet.
