I own a pair of oxblood Solovairs. Here in the US, they call that color of Docs "cherry red". I honestly prefer the color of the Solovairs.

My first pair of “England” Docs lasted from ‘86 to 2014. Leather was perfect and like a sock by the end. No cracks.
Sole hung there very well but finally came apart.
Replaced it with a 2014 “England” cherry and a black. Ten years on, the leather is decent but not as good as my ‘80s boots.
Might be time to try Solovair. I hear the leather is better from a number of YouTubers.

Solovair all the way. The docs even the made in England ones are not the same anymore. I have three pairs of Solovair, feels better to walk for hours comparing to the docs due the little wood support.

I've got the Solovair oxblood, and I really like them. But the finish/leather cracks. Also I have 1460 cherry docs, love them too, less cracking (but less wear too). But the Solovair are way more comfortable.

Thank you for the direct & quick comparsion - if not the color, I'd go 1000% for the solovairs, but MiE vintage martens' color is just... Hypnotizing. Now I'm thinking if that color is wrorth it, as price difference is 100EUR...

It's a shame what has happened to the Doc Marten brand.
I prefer Solovair as they use better materials and they feel better than the Docs

Doc martens aren’t made in England anymore. They moved all there manufacturing plants to
China. Solovairs is the only made in England boot if the two
