Jeremy Batista is the man behind Bodega Truck, the first bodega food truck in NYC to serve one of the city’s most famous sandwiches: the chopped cheese. With his girlfriend Angela and his former bodega owner mother Sonia, he brings the taste of The Bronx to all five boroughs, and hopefully, the world.

Onions and TONS of garlic and pepper was my go-to when I made these as a kid in southern MO.
I'd also cook them longer til the meat started to darken and the cheese crisped.
Minced beef, tons of cheddar, smeared onto a bun. Absolute perfection for an afterschool snack.

deadass the food looks amazing but thats not what sells it for me. its him, his heart and him growing up around it. the way he talks about it, the effort he puts in, the time.. my man could be cooking up my dish i personally hate the most but bc of him you bet your ass im pulling up to eat it.. its not always about the food, its about the people who do it and this is the one of many who do it. much love man, wish i could help support, Im from outside of Boston so i dont think ill have the chance to buy from you ever but if you bottle that sauce you bet im looking for it. wish you and your fam great health, thank you for doing the work you do.
