Was the first bike I got, so much fun. Glad they’re still making these.

Love this bike! I use a 2005 DRZ400SM for daily commuting for 10 years now. I own multiple bikes but I'm quickest by far on my DRZ through traffic. Every commute awakes the playing kid in me (at 50 years old 😇) Ohw, and I must mention that it never broke down. New one seems to be a bit heavy and low on power, but guess that an airbox mod, removal of the catalytic converter, and another mapping will bring it on par with the previous model.

Wow, I never thought I'd see Doctor Z get fuel injection

I'm glad that some of the manufacturers still have beautiful models on their stands.

Like the look of the SM. Couldn't care less about the tech or lack of it. If the price is right, it could be a really fun option. Also lots to mod as well for a few more bhp & a few less KG's which you should really notice.

SM for those living in the bigger cities is a great option, perfect thing for traffic filtering. Highways are kryptonite for bikes like that tho:P. Would love one as a second bike for some fun :D

I may have missed it, but did you mention that it still uses a 5 speed gearbox? It's a fairly significant detail that will a disappointment to many if it means that the engine will revving quite high a motorway speeds.

I'm glad Suzuki is still supporting this model. I have had a drz400s as a 2nd bike for the last 20 years, on my third one. Still, I think they missed a bid opportunity by not giving it a six speed transmission and a bump to 450cc to elevate it from the last generation. It's not enough to make me want to trade up from my current drz, really don't care about ride modes for a dualsport.

Absolutely a sixth gear! I have a 2024 and the 6th gear is the only thing I wish it had.

Style wise I love the new look. The whole exhaust looks like an aftermarket one. Would be nice if the SM had the gold forks too.

I wonder if Suzuki will revamp the 650 also, maybe for next year. Make a 50-55 HP with 6 gears, big suspension travel, arround 160 kilos proper dual sport machine.

Suzuki should do a DRZ 8SM just because they can

I just bought a 24. Was going to loose my mind when i found out the 25 was redesigned . After hearing that its heavier, taller, and less power, ill keep my 24. Only thing i wish i had was a gas guage . Fuel injection could be nice too

Sold my barely used 21 last year. I knew this bike was coming as I had participated in a focus group on it. The biggest gripe on the last generation was that it was still carbureted, needed a new dash, and the styling could use a refresh. Yes a 6th gear would’ve been nice, but no one really complained about it or needing more power or less weight. It still fulfills a dying niche of being an unapologetic super moto with few compromises. Most of the mods transformed the bike into a handling monster that punched way above its weight. We don’t really have a choice but to embrace the bike for what it is and isn’t. It’ll be another 20 years until it’s refreshed again and in that time the mods will roll back in and both the old and new generation bike will continue the cult following it deserves. I wish they would’ve just stuck the 450cc and trans from the RMZ into an upgraded chassis and called it a day. Better yet build a super moto/tour/adventure bike from the aging SV650. Suzuki knows their audience for this bike and played it safe… again. Cmon Suzu… update the Tu250x, the Drz650, and that god awful 250 “sport bike” already

it's funny, people have been saying the DRZ is too heavy for many years, the replacement finally pops up, heavier, and is labelled "remarkably light".
