I think this is a really cool concept, and it was interesting hearing about some of the design challenges as well. But you're right, this only adds to the cool factor of a pen, which I think is a perfectly valid reason to do something like this. And the price is in line with your other options.

This is so cool! Thanks for sharing all the details behind the development of this pen!

If/when this hits other models, I just want to say it would look AMAZING in an Extended Mina Level.

Thanks, Brian, for the detailed introduction. Very clever and cool design!

Since you mention it, I understand very well the complexity of designing and manufacturing the spiral part, but what I don't understand, as you thought might be the case in the video, is why it is so much more difficult to assemble this spiral part instead of a straight clear ink window. Both the spiral and a conventional insert seem they would be parts with threads on both ends (are they?) with same direction threads), so it is not clear, at least to me, why the assembly of this spiral window is any more difficult than any other body insert (which I assume are also threaded and screwed in). Where I could maybe see a challenge is (accurately) cutting the threads into the ends of the 3D-printed blanks. Why is the labor 4x more?

BTW, the pricing is to me reasonable and in line with other options offered by Edison. I appreciate the continued creativity.

Very cool addition to your repertoire!
Can the material used for the spiral window be colored? I'm thinking a very pale tint, something like a yellow to make a typical blue or black ink sort of 'highlighted"? Also, maybe, it would have the window seem like it was just a window until the pen has ink in it.
That might be against the laws of physics and how light works though. :)
Regardless, the new Spiral Ink Window is pretty amazing looking!

Hi just wondering will you be at the DC Pen Show

I wish the ink window showed one more ring on the spiral.

How is this not a blatant rip off of Additive Pens' spiral?
