I have done this, it works.
Use inkjet printer, 'normal quality' and use a neat and plain sheet of plastic.

There are printable transparent sheet, you can use them with laser printer but as it will get written it won't paste on notebook

An easier way is to get a laptop if you have one and put your brightness APL the way up and then put the paper on the computer and it will be see thru to outline
