I recently saw a video about "Perfect Watches" by Adrian Barker and I thought it would be great to make something similar about "Perfect Guitars and Affordable Alternatives" as well. Agree or disagree (but be nice) in the comments.

Thanks for watching,
Keith

Very enjoyable, Keith! I’m a 73 year old who took up guitar in retirement a year ago - first borrowing my son’s G&L Strat, then deciding on a PRS S2 594 for myself when it became clear my interest would stick! This video would be great viewing for anyone buying a first guitar, buying a second in a different flavor, or just wanting a whirlwind tour of Guitar World.

I love my Ibanez RG's. Most people think it is only a Heavy Metal guitar and it is a fine rockguitar. But I worked as a hired gun and session player and did almost all jobs with an RG. It combines the power of a humbucker guitar with strat sounds.

The Squier classic vibes are actually incredible

Yamaha Revstar is certainly a valid SG alternative as well. Been wanting one for awhile

I'm so glad you included Anderson. I worked there for 10 years. Thank you.

I just bought my Epi Les Paul Standard 60s Series for $300, and the shop spent over an hour setting it up and lowering the action for me. Best neck I've ever held in my life...

Shop local...

G&L's tribute line offers outstanding value in every model. I recommend the Fallout. What a guitar

I can also recommend the G&L Tribute Series as budget alternatives to Teles and Strats. I'm blown away with my Legacy (S type). Of course the US versions are outstanding and still cheaper than the Fender equivalent.

Anyone new, there are more affordable guitar brands than shown in the video. you DO NOT HAVE T O OWN A FENDER, GIBSON, PRS. You can play anything

Without ever seeing this, or any of your other videos until just now, I got a Sire H7 at Chicago Music Exchange for my birthday in 2024. Last Saturday, I went to CME and got a Sire T3. The salesmen checked the computer and commented on the earlier purchase. I said it was always my dream to have a 335 and a Telecaster but the cost was insane. But these Sires made me completely content. Ben, one of the staff said that was a damn good pairing. And now I just played your quote about 335s and Telecasters for my wife. AFFIRMATION BABY! Thank you! I’m set!

One affirmation deserves another. I am now subscribed.

Beato with Tim clips are priceless! Saw those videos and the nuance knowledge I acquired and was validated on is very inspiring and sweet.
Nice that 5 watt does what they do!! Truly enjoy their videos and knowledge. Have learned more than I thought I could from my 63 years. Again, priceless!
The five guitars listed in this video, .. I've always thought were the perfect collection to achieve. Those dreams were cut short when my 59 Tele was stolen and never have I been able come back from that. No other guitar will ever sound that good to my ears. Yes, .. haunting is the word. Left a hole in me.

Surprised at the omission of the Heritage H-150. I picked one up a few years ago for ~$1500. Great guitars built in the old Kalamazoo house. Great stuff, Keith!

For me, a tele and gretch will cover every sonic need one can imagine. Great video 5watt.

Snobs will hate me but, but Squier is a great alternative, it's Quality has increased so much in over the last years, the ones I have played feel nearly as good as my american select one

Great video! I’m always humbled and reminded when I see a guitar player walk in with a squier classic vibe, Princeton amp, and 2-3 simple pedals and absolutely crushes everyone around with their tone and chops.

That's a really interesting look at these iconic guitars. I also appreciate that you gave credit to some of the other content creators — I love it when people are willing to work together! Great video!

Don't forget the excellent Heritage H535, made in USA semi-hollow, figured wood and great workmanship. Mine even has a wood pickguard. The Heritage H150 is a great Les Paul alternative as well. I have one of those too!

THANK YOU! Finally a video that uses the word "affordable" appropriately! Those guitars are really the minimum price for a guitar of that quality made in a way that one could consider objectively ethical. This tells a story worth telling and paints a realistic picture of expectation! OUTSTANDING content!
