No Wonder Aldi's Meat Is So Cheap

Aldi is one of the best supermarkets to go to for a good bargain. The German supermarket chain is well known for its super low prices and for giving customers a to-the-point shopping experience.

With around 90% of Aldi’s products coming from the in-house brand, you’re guaranteed a quick and easy trip to the grocery store, because you don’t have to get confused over choosing the same product from ten different brands.

This strategy of in-house items has worked brilliantly, as they are able to keep their prices at an all-time low, including on their meat. This is why Aldi’s meat is so cheap.

so you're telling me that I'm spending less money AND supporting regional farms instead of big corporations, AND reducing industrial food waste? Go Aldi!

When Aldi first opened in my town years, I was skeptical and thought it was going to be cheap prices along with cheap products. That's simply not the case. I have bought every different type of meat product that they offer, and it is above and beyond better than anywhere else. I only buy my meat from Aldi's. It is better than most butcher stores I've tried. Well done, Aldi. You are reducing food waste, supporting regional farmers and providing a great, low cost service to your customers! Other places should do what you do and the world would be better.

I love Aldi and was afraid this would be a bad reveal, so I'm glad to hear what I already believed to be true. I live on their produce and meat/poultry/fish, plus amazing bacon and fresh eggs. Cheap but good olive oil, condiments and milk tops it off!

Growing up in Missouri my family shopped at Aldi all the time. When I moved to Florida we didn't have any here and I seriously missed it. We just recently finally got some down here and I couldn't be happier.

This video is incorrect on a major issue
I work for a transportation company and can confirm that Aldi branded meats come from the same processing plants as everyone else's most of their meats are either JBS/SWIFT or TYSON.
HOWEVER the way aldi runs its distribution centers is so much more efficient than other grocery chains

I bought a piece of steak that I did in my Dutch oven! We all got a beautiful steak that was moist and tender. AND I used to be married to a butcher so I love good meat!!

Aldis is great. They help farmers in their communities and keep local produce flowing giving farmers and traders much more freedom and control over their farms and assets etc. I shop in Aldis because of this and honestly all supermarkets should be like Aldis.

We don’t need all the big grocery store shoppers knowing our secret.

I usually check out the prices of all the stores around, and I buy from the store that happens to have a sale that week. Lot a deals at stores that sell are like outlets, and the products are near expiration dates. I can afford paying g top price, but there's alot of deals to be had. So I snag them.

I would like to know their overhead cost compared to sales. I am sure it is much lower than the other grocery stores. I especially like the smaller store design.

The ground beef is good. I'm not a fan of the pork sausage though, and that's saying a lot considering I like almost all sausage. It was like every bite had a piece of cartilage or something, not hard like gristle but just wouldn't break down.

I used to work at Aldi. Employees are overworked due to them intentionally running the store with a skeleton crew. At times only 3 people

Aldi’s has always been hit or miss for me. I haven’t been back since a Lidl opened here a couple years ago.

You know...It never occurred to me they have to factor in spoilage to cover costs. I just assumed they put it all in a rotisserie and sold it cooked.

My Aldi has 'Rack of Lamb' about 4 times a year around Holidays and it's from a 'regional' supplier in Australia!

Not 'so cheap' at least by me. Better specials at other grocery stores. Certainly convenient and the vacuum packs are great.
Had surprising success with the $4.99/lb chuck country ribs which grilled up pretty tender.
