Growing Zucchini vertically, pruning, and harvesting. In this video, I will show you how to grow zucchini vertically, prune and harvest. I will show you how to cut the bottom leaves and how to tie up your zucchini without breaking your plant. I will also want to mention that I will be making a couple videos of how to freeze your zucchini and change up your lasagna by replace noodles with zucchini.

I hope you get inspired and grow your own garden. Harvest, eat fresh, freeze and add these veggies to your supper dishes within your home. I wanted to let you know that I only really started eating zucchini and learning how to cook with zucchini since we started our garden. So this is a new vegetable (3 years for me) for us and we truly enjoy it.

Last year (2020), we had a great success with our back yard garden. Please see the link below called “Silo – Raised Garden Beds.”

Happy gardening! If you “like” this video, please give it a “thumbs up.” Feel free to “subscribe” and click the “bell” to receive notifications of my upcoming of videos.

You need to cut the unwanted stem off closer to the stem so u don’t get bugs in the hollow part of the remaining stem

I have a friend that picks the male flowers ---- preps a stuffing -- batters and fries them . Its quite a beautiful side

Last years yellow squash grew eight plus feet using this method. Pruning the older leaves stimulates new growth leading to a much longer, and more productive vine over the course of the growing season.

A beautiful harvest, Rose, well done.
This is the first time I've seen your channel, and I will check out more videos.

One small hint: you can easily polinate all your squash plants. First thing in the morning, take a male flower, tear off the petals. Find all your female flowers, and dab the anther of the male flower on the stamen of the female flower. One male flower will pollinate many females. If you do NOT want to cross pollinate your yellow squash and zucchini, make sure you match up the appropriate flowers.

Near the end of the season, when you are nearly disgusted by the sight of another summer squash, keep one or two squash on the plant so the seeds will mature. The squash will get very large, and unedible. You can save those seeds and plant next year.

Loved the way the flowers opened after you trimmed the lower leaves.

Yes this is good can’t wait in Spring. I have my wire up. The tomatoes was a success so can’t wait to try Zucchini cucumbers and Butternut pumpkin vertically 😊

Doing it vertically makes it easier to catch squash bugs and borers

How far apart did you plant them from each other since you’re growing them vertically?

I have found that if I left the zucchini on the plant until it's that big it's usually tough and the seeds are tough which You will have to scrape out the seeds and just use the flesh, maybe grating for zucchini bread. I hope you have good luck with vertical zucchini's i'm trying this method my self for the very first time

Learned a ton from this. Are your plants the vining variety or the bushing variety?

I will be transplanting to raised bet this weekend and planned to do vertically so a timely video for me . i love the open space between plants and I wonder what companion plants can grow there? Peas, beans, I'll have to do some research. Looking forward to seeing my results, very motivating. Another video stated clipping like you can produce more fruit and all summer. I live in NS.
