Love your videos. I grow and give away maple trees every year in honor of my dad who passed in 2018. They called him Jonny Appleseed 🙂He and I planted many maples together over the years. Thanks for the informative videos! 🍁🍁🍁 @DadsTrees

I’m a fairly experienced gardener but newly interested in Japanese maples. I ordered a couple of small JMs last year, placed them each in pots with a good potting mix and have kept them in appropriate sun/shade. Happy to say they’re doing well. I am looking forward to viewing more of your videos and increasing my knowledge and my JMs. Your videos are very helpful and I appreciate the details you share. Thanks a bunch.

A great video that covers the A to Z of potting an Acer. From the pot itself, the soil, watering, fertiliser and aftercare. They are fabulous Maples that are definitely worth the time and effort to nurture them. They then reward you with their magnificent Autumn colours no matter how brief they can be.

Thanks so much for this video. I've wanted a Japanese Maple for a long time, and I've finally decided to get one this year. I will be growing it in a pot, so this video was very clear and helpful with a lot of good information for someone new to Japanese Maples.

i use turface in all my potting mixes the past few years. i learned from the bonsai growers. it works great. and doesnt cost half what even the promix or similar mixes cost. once you have 100s of trees in pots bagged potting mix gets very costly. thanks jonny. trees look great!

I just got a coral bark Japanese maple for my first japanese maple tree and your videos have been extremely helpful! I was thinking about planting it but now I'm going to keep it potted for a while I think.

Very new. Denver, co, USA 5, 300 ft average 10”/ y z5b-a. I have heavy clay so pots are a must. I bought 8 plants and found out full sun there does not mean full sun here. I absolutely love the JM and really want to grow them.

Hello, have a two tamukeyama Japanese maple trees in zone 7a and before I knew anything about planting I planted them in full son. They are doing very well. I water them daily at about 11 am before it gets extremely hot so that they can handle the extreme heat. I have had them for 6 years and they are gorgeous. Just sharing but I feel really bad for them now that I know better. 😢
