I am actually glad jwissick sticks it out in here, as it shows the need for the very videos we are watching here. Someone like him it offensive to this message, yet is probably really deep down wanting to be able to accept something that we have through evidence. I didn't say it was legal now. I said it was permissible in the past. Notice the word "has." Since the people make the rules, that must mean that those people weren't wrong to kill their children, right? What about slavery? Chattel slavery has been permissible in many societies. Does that mean at the time it was morally okay? What about blood sports involving people or animals?

Cock-fighting and dog-fighting and other activities are legal in parts of the world. So is it only morally wrong for Mike Vick to fight dogs, but not someone in Japan or Romania? Does that make any sense?

@jwissick going back to my computer analogy, as it's a world, in a sense, we created that we cannot going into ourselves (although the power & material for all this is still not created by us), while we have complete control over the system which computer programs live, yet can they really study us? Can we humans be put through one of their functions? And what do we do if a program doesn't follow the purpose and laws we gave it? We are like wretched programs, deserving nothing but the trash bin.

@jwissick you were created into this world, thus you didn't make the morals that we are to live by. You can come up with any nonsense of morals you want, but you're still living in the universe you didn't create, and thus must live by the laws of the one who made us, and be judged by him too.

@jwissick Alright then, let me reword my question. What if the majority of society agreed that stealing was perfectly okay--the right thing to do, even. By your standard of "man makes the rules, " wouldn't that make stealing right, if the majority agreed to it? That's kind of what I was talking about with my last question.

Amazing... good funny video, but false teaching. In order to be commanded to "abide" in Christ, you must be able to "un-abide." If I tell you to abide in the car, you can also get out of the car and disobey.

I would agree that we shouldn't jump on an "I'm not loved anymore" bandwagon---that's more of Satan driving guilt to it's edge...

Jesus rebukes us because He loves us... I think that's clear from Scripture.
