He is such good villain, he's one of Disneys best suave and professional villains despite being a psychopath. He reminds me a lot of Scar from the Lion King and Claud Frollo rolled into one cause he has such a lustful nature and its truly disgusting, but he's also smart and manipulative, but just like Scar he is pure evil and has no problems killing and torturing anyone he wants to achieve his goals. A truly magnificent specimen of evil!

Fun Fact: Jafar was originally loud and angry, while Iago was going to have a British accent. However writers Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio said (nah we like calm Jafar better). So their personalities were completely swapped.

It's also confirmed that Jonathan Freeman and Gilbert Gottfried were very good friends. They both made an appearance in the documentary (Life Animated).

One of my top villains, due to the fact that he balances malice and comedy well. I often forget it was Iago's idea for him to marry Jasmine, not his own.

As one of my favorite Disney villains Jafar proved to be both manipulative and charismatic enough to almost make most of the other characters not see him as a threat, but he was also shown throughout the first Aladdin movie to be cunning enough to work around certain issues. As far as his backstory, the "Once Upon A Time in Wonderland" version gave Jafar a semi-reasonable excuse for his villainy and the belief he ws "above others" since he was the illegitimate son of the sultan and exiled to live as a "street rat" before learning to use magic, especially as his goal had been to make his father love him.
One of the best recurring lines in "The Retun of Jafar" was that despite being all-powerful; "genies can't kill anybody...but you'd be surprised what you can live through." The villain song drom the sequel actually does a better job of highlighting Jafar's nature and egotism when he spends the entire sequence trying to humiliate Genie, something that's almost reflective of his reuse of "Prince Ali" to expose and humiliate Aladdin.

Jafar is one of the best villains created.

Yes! His composition is so sinister. He hides his ego pretty well compared to other villains who get very abrasive when they are confronted. If Aladdin hadn’t thought of outwitting Jafar I think the ending would have been very different. Great video!

Somewhat Off-Topic: What I Like about Aladdin 2 the Return of Jafar is Iago's Redemption Arch.

Let's not forget after his lamp is destroyed he dies and becomes a soul in the Underworld where he teams up with Hades to try and have Aladdin and Hercules kill each other only to fail and then be sent into to the River of Styx.

When it comes to the live remake of Jafar he does not give the same feeling as the old one did.

He’s one of those villains who just exudes SLYTHERIN. He LOOKS like a Slytherin, talks like a Slytherin, acts like a Slytherin….

Jafar turning into that snake was one of the scariest things on the planet to me when I was little and first saw this movie

8:35 I wish that they left original song, ” Why Me?” At least it would’ve been his own song

Ironic that one of the best Disney Renaissance villains gets a pretty lame song. I’m not saying Jafar’s song which is basically a reprise of “Prince Ali” is bad, I mean Jonathan Freeman sings it very good and it has a great finish, but compared to the other Disney Renaissance villain songs like “Be Prepared”, “Hellfire” and “Poor Unfortunate Souls”, it just doesn’t compare or stack up. A shame considering there were 2 villain songs written for Jafar to sing that could’ve been potentially great Disney villain songs and been as iconic as the other songs I’ve mentioned like “Humiliate the Boy” which was one of Howard Ashman’s last songs he wrote before his passing and “Why Me” by Tim Rice. At least The Return of Jafar did rectify this with “You’re Only Second Rate” which is definitely a Disney villain song that’s more in line with a great Disney villain song and let’s Jonathan Freeman have fun portraying the bombastic and psychopathic nature of Jafar’s character: especially in Genie form and having greater power than he did as a sorcerer and using it to torment Aladdin’s Genie.

Strictly speaking, the genie only completes the first wish at the end of the 3rd movie

Speaking of Slytherin, Can you Finally Please make a Harry Potter Video. You haven’t talk too much about Warner Bros and I think it deserves more recognition than it gets.
