I noticed in your video that after you activated Windows 11 Pro, it says "Windows is activated with a digital license". On my Windows 10 Pro it says " Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account". Can you explain the difference?

Good video! Btw Microsoft has offically closed the loophole that has being used to activate Windows 10/11 with 7, 8 or 8.1 keys. It's in effect with the insider builds and may come to production builds quite soon through an update.

In Australia, if you have Windows on a disk you can reuse that key about every 3 months over and over. I have done this many times with no problems at all.

So if you have a retail version of Windows on a PC that's died, how do you deactivate it to use that retail version on a new PC?

Hi Brian!!! But what if I buy a microsoft license, normally I bought the OS right??? and then why don't I have access to all the features in Windows? This does not exist in linux in addition to being free, and in addition I have access to all the functions of the operating system. As I see it, windows is only borrowed from Microsoft, not bought like normal, and you can't do what you want with this vile operating system that robs people of money but you don't have full access to the OS. I'm waiting for an answer on this, and don't be surprised if people still download hacked versions.

Also, enterprise version usually use volume licenses, so you can't use it on home or pro

I bought a computer with Windows 10 Home on a HDD. I used my old Windows 7 Pro product key to successfully upgrade & activate it to Windows 10 Pro. After imaging the HDD, I replaced it with an SSD, but when I restored the image, Windows didn't keep it activated. Why?

Luckily, all I had to do was re-enter the product key. But now I want to upgrade that computer to Windows 11 Pro. Will I run into any activation problems, and if I do, can I still use that same Windows 7 Pro product key to reactivate it or has Microsoft stopped allowing that?

In 10 years I bought 3 lep tops with pre-installed windows and when my Toshiba died the key went with it, the other two hard drives died, the first machine was too old for me to care about and the one I currently use is 3 years old and I'm using a new one hard disk without key activation. Yes, I'm stupid, I never bothered to write down the activation key codes, I have an old hard drive but I'm not technical enough to solve the problem.

I've installed new nvme drives and ram into four of my PC's and havn't lost an activation yet, I did upgade my new PC from Windows-11 Home to Windows-11 pro via the Microsoft store which took no longer than a normal windows update

Funnily enough I did get away with this after replacing an HPZ420 motherboard I had damaged trying to replace the bios battery. I took the opportunity to bung in a 12 core v2 processor instead of the 6 core one on the first mobo & it booted straight up still activated. I then used the same license to activate another win10 pro copy on a completely different pc & separately downloaded op system! Guess some of these bulk licences from ex business pcs are good for more than one machine/not oem maybe? 🤟🤟

I think there might have been some changes either in Microsoft, or on that sales site. Non of the prior Windows 7, or 8 keys from the PC's I have tried are recognized by microsoft. I finally went to the sales site you recommended and 2 of my purchases went through, but none since then. The error says contact merchant. Are there other options to buy a license?
