Those Revstars really blew everyone away. Loved seeing a Bo feature as well! Hahaha great memories and great video! 🤗 thanks Andy!

The biggest screw up that Yamaha made in making these new Revstars is that they omitted an Element P-90 version! HUGE MISTAKE, in my opinion!

That yellow one sounds terrific in clean mode. Once you step on the pedal, they sound VERY similar. And just so you can remember, a “High Pass” filter allows it to pass the high frequencies. A “Low Pass” filter lets it pass low frequencies. Unless I’ve got that reversed…

That green/gold model just looks so unbelievably gorgeous. They all sound amazing too. Thanks for the demo, Andy.

I've got the blue with white stripe Element and it's become my go to. Amazing guitar and the price is hard to argue with!

Thanks for the comparison. The super crush sounds killer for a solid state! Any of the 3 would be awesome to have! Im waiting a year for their arrival, hurry up Yamaha!

I’ve got that yellow element. Great guitar and the high pass filter is really usable. Fantastic value! Thanks for the vid!!

I'm reminded of watching a certain channel with a certain guitar youtuber claiming to be able to do this with american strats and squiers, got it the wrong way round then started feeling the knobs and switches and changed his mind. Then spent the rest of the video slagging off cheap guitars.

Revstars look and sound great. I feel they do sounds different but not really one better over the other. The yellow one has a more raw feel and the expensive one a bit more smooth.

I love the Revstars. Just a great classy looking shape and killer sounds. The yellow one is fantastic.

Very happy to see you checking out these guitars Andy! The full fat Japanese model looked gorgeous and I'm sure it's craftsmanship is phenomenal. But the elements model has to be the one to get for someone looking for a bargain. The element model stacks up very well against something like say an Epiphone LP, with the standard actually being around the same price range as the higher end Epis. I have to say I'd take the Revstars over them and I'm a big LP style guitar fan.

I'm SO glad you did this. I've got one of the standards on order. Glad to hear it has a thin neck...my ideal neck is one of those '60's Gibson speed necks with barely there frets.

Love seeing these Revstar videos! My wife got me a Revstar standard with P-90s for Father’s Day from Sweetwater. Still waiting to get it in my hands, but if they had P-90s in the element version, I agree with Andy that those are really the Revstars to own. Such incredible bang for your buck! Yamaha makes fantastic instruments and amps, Can’t wait to pair that Revstar with my Pacifica 612 (which is a joy to play) and my THR30II (which brings the walls down in my office)

Thanks for the review. It was interesting to note that another reviewer mentioned that the out of phase positions on the new Yamaha models are muddy and a little bit odd sounding ( which was audibly noticeable through YouTube ) when using a Helix digital modelling unit. Something to note if your not using analogue pedals on your pedalboard. It was a bit disappointing to hear this as it effectively reduces your switching tones on the guitar.
I would liked to have had locking tuners on the guitar too. Cheers

Andy,
Blind tests are rough. I appreciate the effort. I would have bought a Revstar by now, except there's no whammy bar. The old Revstars used to have whammy available!

I bought a B-Stock Element with a view to testing it and getting a Pro. I am so happy with the Element it's my main guitar. I love it. No need for a Pro for now.

Just picked up a new black guard T-style with blonde finish. The neck on it is fatter than anything I have. I was pleasently surprised, TBH. It's actually my 3rd guitar from this company. First 2 were LP-style and superb. The one follows suit. It's needed nothing. Not even fret ends gone over.

Monoprice sells some pretty dang good guitars. Either that or I've just gotten extremely lucky 3 times in a row lol

Thanks for the great show. I don't think most player would find the low boost on a humbucker laced guitar all that useful. I'd rather the low cut switch on all the models. But never played one so maybe it'd work out.

They all sounded great, but that fluorescent yellow Element is, too, over the top.
