What Yamaha has been able to do, is come up with a design that is different out being TOO different. Quite an accomplishment.

I think the revstar has the perfect balance of looking modern and retro at the same time. I guess it’s a timeless design.
Also thank you Chris for including the Tied up in blue solo to kick off. That song has helped me immeasurably since it’s release. I lost my mother last April and one thing we really bonded over was our love of music ( which she gave to me ) we would regularly show each other “new” music we had found that we thought the other would love. My mother would’ve loved Cardinal Black and Tom’s soulful, perfectly delivered lyrics. I initially felt a real sadness listening to the song that I wouldn’t get to share this with mother, but listening to it knowing she would’ve shared my love for it also gave me a sense of joy. To this day it’s still my favourite on January Came close. ( sorry for the long comment )

Between the words and the playing, I feel like I’m listening to a genius. Not many people this gifted and successful can also be so reflective and humble. Cheers man

Chris, you're such a breath of fresh air in the modern Internet music environment. You could have ranted about how the Rev is the best thing since sliced bread, could have said nothing and let your tone do the talking, or you could just calmly discuss why the tool works for you. Door number three was perfect and demonstrates wisdom beyond your years. Looking forward to even more fine music from you and the Rev.

Rhett is such an experienced content creator. He knew starting a topic like this would stir drama and bring him tons of traffic. Use whatever tf you want, idk why this needs to be a conversation in the first place

What a humble grounded artist: Chris Buck "I am just a guitar player ..."

I love the tones you get out of that Gold Revstar. P-90s rule. Magnificent clips. Can’t wait to see you here in the States. God bless and Rock On!

He is as articulate with words as he is with his hands. A joy to listen to him speak and play, a truly unique artist

I gotta say man, you and Derek Trucks share a very similar tone and playing style, and you’re doing it without a slide. Super cool. My ears enjoy your sound.

Personally I think the Revstar is one of the best guitars in ages. It's a new design that could sit beside any classic design without looking out of place. Also the quality is amazing and a perfect mix of the best new and old tech.

I remember Carlos Santana touring and recording with Yamaha SGs in the mid seventies between using Gibsons and then the PRS showing that Yamaha were not only 'copy' guitars and should be taken seriously. As for Chris, I agree that the Revstar has become his signature sound with a unique voice.

Im sure you hear this all the time. But the notes you put in your leads and dynamics is some of the best ever...for real

I can’t help but repeat an observation but, Chris Buck has an uncanny ability to look into a camera and clearly explain whatever it is he is talking about. It seems authentic, articulate and natural. I could see some sort of broadcast or media opportunities in addition to the other worldly guitar playing. Not everyone can turn on a camera and speak so clearly. I know I can’t!

Chris, as I have watched your videos over the videos over the past couple years, I have been struck not only by your tone and note choice, but some other element that I couldn't put into words...until today. Viceral. I LOVE how you attack each note and squeeze every ounce you can out of everything you are putting into it. Thanks for being an honest and inspiring musician and artist.

I've had a Revstar for a couple of weeks now. I absolutely love it. It's my first P90 guitar, and I wish I had tried them sooner.
