Painful. The whole point of using your brain to gather the material and create the links is to teach your brain the material and how to think.
Having a machine do it might be cool and useful in some ways, but doing the work yourself is how you truly and deeply learn the material.
This was how I studied throughout law school and how I work in my legal practice--when you put the material together and learn the links on your own, you don't even need notes because you know it back, forth, upside down, cold.

The podcast feature often avoids important subject matter in the source material if it’s at all “distasteful” to talk about. Example, I fed in Berkshire Hathaway 2023 shareholder letter, the podcast didn’t mention Charlie Mungers death. The biggest part of the letter is Warren Buffet memorializing him.

This reminds me of one thing that really worries me. The lack of an open format for written notes in every App. Everyone that uses tablets with a pen would benefit for this kind of default format. I know you can export your notes from Apple Notes in PDF, but it’s just a PDF and not a document you could continue to use in another App. By the way, does anyone know if Notebook LM can read handwritten notes if it’s in a PDF file?

Thanks for another video. However, I detest the Notebook LM AI generated podcast feature. It sounds so unnatural, so forced & fake to me. I will always prefer real, natural spoken podcasts between live humans.
