Reviewing PetSmart's Ball Python Care Guide! (it's trash)

I thought it would be fun to take a look at one of the care guides at PetSmart to see what kind of information is in there. Today we are going over the ball python care guide! These are usually handed out to people who are buying pets and often may not know much about their care. Let's see if the info is good or bad!

I just went to a pet smart and it made me so sad to see family's who are bored buying animals they know nothing about.

Ugh. I took a look at the PetSmart animals the other day, just garbage conditions, animals not behaving how they were supposed to. Nasty

The fact that you're calmly talking through this as your snake casually tries to leave is great.

I work at a pet store and thankfully it’s not petsmart or petco. As an employee, if I can tell someone didn’t do adequate research or has a distain for the animal they are planning on buying, we can tell them no and not sell the animal. Even though our company is a “chain” store, we put a lot of time and effort to make and provide quality care guides and assistance to customers and their pets. We also sell larger tanks (55 gallons and up) and better quality supplies. Now I can’t say this for every store or employee, but my manager genuinely cares for animals and wants to make sure they are cared for. This is a great video, keep it up!

Yes it’s trash I used to work at Petsmart and I quit because of the awful animal care standards! So many animals die there.

Petsmart and petco have no business selling animals. They're great for supplies, but the fact that they also sell Savannah monitors and green Iguanas is terrifying.
I keep my ball pythons in glass terrariums (front opening, NOT aquariums), but the back and sides are covered and the screen top makes it a challenge to keep humidity up. I cover most of the top with plastic cutting mats and shift them to open the ventilation based on if the humidity is too high or too low. It is definitely possible, but for a kid looking to get a snake, they probably won't do this.

Victoria Rachel did this too with the hamster care guide
Add on- I love Tesla in the background running away. All snakes think they can fly

So, that is actually an updated care guide. Still not the best, but wow compare it to their old guides, it has improved which is nice. Thanks for being a good source to provide good pet care.

Now this is the content we needed in 2020😂
And literally any other video of yours is amazing as well, just putting that out there
But this video makes me feel as content as the peanut butter baby meme

I personally like aspin shavings, but only because I use a humidity box with sphagnum moss to simulate the termite mounts

All of the animal care guides are outdated and just wrong in general sadly.

Thank you so much for making this! I have been doing hours, days of research (about 60 pages so far). I honestly thought (until now) that petsmart would know the most, because it seems like they obviously would being a pet store and all. I'm so glad I didn't put full trust in a petsmart pamphlet.
Hopefully, I can get my ball python at Repticon next year! Fingers crossed.

I've seen a care guide about yellow tanks and sturgeon, sturgeons are not salt water they'll not do well in a salt water tank also they cannot be kept in anything under 1000 gallons per fish for the smallest the more commonly kept one's around 8-15, 000 gallons
