America is NOT a land of immigrants either. America is a land of settlers and builders. We came to nothing and built something new. For a significant part of our history lives births of multi-generational Americans far outnumbered immigrants and their children. It wasn't until the 1880s when "Eastern Europeans" started coming in en masse that this myth was pushed heavily. Migrants who have come to our country after 1965, since the passage of the Hart-Celler Act, far outnumber on a yearly basis any year of immigrants brought before. These people aren't like those before them, these new people only take from, not give into, the system.

The idea that we are a "Nation of Immigrants" is a myth imposed upon us.

Yeah, that's something I've thought of, as an American. We're always told we need to accept (usually illegal) people in because we're "a nation of immigrants". But people are also insisting on the same for Britain and other European countries- which were not built on immigration. It makes me think the American reasoning has something else behind it.

Also, as for Britain wanting to make up for slavery that's actually America's: I remember Lashana Lynch saying, re criticisms of her being 007, that it was giving her flashbacks to "segregation". lol, like she's a 80 year old woman from the American South and not a Millennial from modern Britain.

I am a farmer son and I expressed that to a coworker of mine who was a black man, he stated to me that he couldn’t do the work and I asked why, he stated “ I can’t because I’m black and we don’t wanna be in the fields again “. I was taken aback by this because I just see farming as a venture to gain money and work hard which anyone could do but okay
