Tent mode helps with ventilation when you plug in external keyboard and mouse, which is especially useful for a 2in1 laptop with fan. I used to use it for light gaming. Great video btw and thanks for sharing your user experience.

there should be "fanless mode" 1 button setting where it automatically will trigger throttling, but unfortunately its not so easy to turn i7 laptop into fanless mode

Nice video. I bought a refurbished dell xps 9365, fanless of course and I was wondering about the heating beneath. Your just answered my questions. Thank you. I don't enjoy the heating though 😒.

I wonder why with such good and regular videos the algorith isn't pushing this content more... Like you, I hate fan noise, I have lost hope in Intel, so hopefully with time ARM will become a valid alnternative on Windows tooo

This device definitely caught my eye a few years back but I didn't need it. Now.... I'm just tempted to pick one up to use for light web browsing, emails, etc. It's a shame to hear there won't be any follow ups on the fanless ones.

Does it still get updates with windows 11 around the corner?

on my current laptop, the dell inspiron 5570i, the fan just kicks in when its on charge so the very second it does, i rip the cord out to shut it up.

Y series slow cpu(i7 8500Y on mine) that keep throttling, crap battery and chin camera.... have a unit sitting on my lap now. Brilliant QHD+ display but it's just too slow for anything useful. it chugs even with basic web browsing and MS Office apps.
Being fanless, the toasty cpu end up killing the battery lifespan within the first two years of using this machine. Bought at the tail end of 2019 and the battery has lost almost 60% of its design capacity less than 2 years later.

Do you guys think we should still get the laptop I saw the laptop on eBay as I need one for school just to do normal school stuff and watch Netflix and it’s quite cheap I prefer it to be more updated but if it’s still works like new I acc wouldn’t mind it what do you guys think ?

Why use it in tent mode? Cause the camera is on the bottom of the screen.

I need a fanless laptop only for basic office stuff and no multi tasking.
It has to be light and with good build quality (no quaking or creaking etc) On the cheap end - I'm fine with using 1-2 or even 3year old models if they're still good for office tasks and are fanless.

My dude, check out Alldocube GT Book i1405. I got one. I can play Arma 3, old Need for Speed, Aerofly FS 2, Mudrunner 2... 0db. But I do have it on a stand so the bottom is well above the table and I have a quiet desk fan pointing at it. I put thermal paste between the CPU heat sink and the aluminum case bottom. Best part is the colorful IPS 16:9 1080p display which at 14 inches looks perfectly sharp.

I wanted to buy a gaming laptop but with the fan noise and non IPS screens, I'll keep my current laptop.
