I haven’t even watched to the end of this video, but I’m already impressed at how clear and easy this chap made the set up look. I’m a girl nearing 60 and live on my own so I will be setting it up by myself. I feel confident and am looking forward to watching the other videos on customising the Home Screen and set up. Great when it works. I just had one delivered and said I'll set it up myself. 2 weeks later and I'm still looking at a blank screen. I set it up and it didn't turn on; only got the red indicator light, so I had Geek Squad come and they confirmed it was defective. Your video was helpful because from it I figured out the correct way to repack it in the box. Now I need to rent a vehicle to exchange it during the holiday crowds. But I learned the lesson: if they have the option always have them set it up to make sure it works! But obviously you're correct that it's fragile; the repairman said it may have been too jostled during delivery.

Got 77 inch cx. This thing is glorious. I live in a condo where this tv is in my bright living space. As long as there is direct light source hitting the screen, this tv is perfectly fine for day viewing to my eyes. Night time viewing is just off the chart with the darkest black and super high contrast. Expensive tv but it's worth it.

Ordered my 55 inch today for the Xbox Series X and cannot wait to get this set up. Future proofed now for the next gen with the hdmi 2.1. I'll definitely re watch this when it gets here to make sure I set up the stand correctly. Great video!

Set this up by myself and yes, it would be much better with two people. I was nervous attaching the stand due to the thinness of the screen and the general awkwardness of the way it attaches. There aren’t a lot of solid places with which to lift the tv.

You make a point of how an owner would be overly sensitive as to the fragility of the screen so I feel you skipped over a very important step; once you had the stand connected to the unit how did you lift the entire unit onto the tv pedestal?

Thanks for this. Assembling the stand front and rear bit was not clear on the instructions, so seeing it done was great. Everything else is straight forward. Can I leave a couple of Tips: The 3 screws that connect the front silver strip and the heavy stand were very tight on mine. Suggest you screw the screws into the strip and then remove before you connect to the stand; this will ensure they screw in a bit easier when you assemble; you need to ensure they go in straight. Also suggest you put some of the polystyrene packaging back into the centre of the box to support the TV when assembling if you are laying the TV on the box. This gives a bit move support to the TV as the centre of the box is not strong enough to hold it up and you end up only supporting the TV at each edge. Hope all that helps!

I’ve been searching for a new tv for over a month now (with exhaustive research) and found myself coming back to your videos. Though Vincent is a Jedi over at HDTV Test, I prefer a more basic overview which kept me glued your channel and Caleb over at Digital Trends. You go over everything that’s important to me and do so in a calm, enjoyable manner. Almost relaxing and zen. With a veritable sea of information out there, I found the research and decision process to be stressful. Not here though, which is why I love your reviews and insight. Particularly your review of LG’s Oled CX. So much that it pushed me enough to pull the pin and order the 65” version. I’m coming from a 9 year old 55” LED so a solid 4K and HDR set was extremely important. I almost bought a Sony x950h but was concerned about the persistent blooming it projects. Needless to say, I’m beyond excited and want to thank you for your excellent videos. You’re a brilliant host and reviewer so keep up the great work.

I have a couple of questions..

1- My only concern with the tv is that it doesn’t get all that bright. Do you find that it’s ever an issue? I’ll be placing it in a living room with no direct sunlight that isn’t particularly bright. I’m also adding another layer of curtains to enhance the man cave’s darkness.

2- Because the CX sits so low on its stand, positioning a soundbar in front is next to impossible. I plan on measuring, cutting and painting some wood to help raise it enough to accommodate a a soundbar. How high do you figure I should raise it? Most soundbars are around 2.5 inches high (I think). As for the wood riser, I was going to ask what your stand’s measurements were (width, depth and height) but remembered you own a 55” which is probably different than the 65”.
