A Tribute to HR Team

During this Movement Control Order (MCO), we hear of bosses scrambling to keep their business afloat, dealing with cashflow, regulations, and making tough employment decisions. The stress on these bosses is no doubt immense. But one function in the company is also helping the boss to bear this stress, and that is the HR portfolio.

HR professionals and administrators, or TEAM HR, have to shoulder the boss' burden, working tirelessly in the background. They have to run about managing employees' well-being, see to Work-from-Home preparedness, rush for paperwork to give the business clearance to continue operations, and to monitor employees' productivity and to encourage them on. On top of that, they also have to convey bad news to employees (e.g forced unpaid leave, paycuts, retrenchment).

TEAM HR is the force that does its best to cushion worst case scenarios or to roll-out rebuilding exercises. TEAM HR is the last person standing beside the boss; it is the machinery that never stops moving until the company ceases to operate.
