(Legacy) Wheel Bearing Attempt and Fail

We tried to tackle the wheel bearing without the knowledge or tools to do so and fail bad. Now we have to get a shop to do it.

The way I've always done it is with the car on the ground and a lot of leverage. Breaker bar and a pipe did the trick when I did the CV axles in my WRX. Same with my Miata.

Use a breaker bar, good silicone lubricant, and your body weight you sissies. I just replaced the whole spindle, bearing and all on my 95 leggy with over 230k miles, ALL original suspension, drive train, etc. If worse comes to worse, invest in a propane torch. Scratch that, paying a shop overpriced labor will fix it, fer sure, but it won't be as satisfying :-)
