Elon Musk, the billionaire tech inventor, has just revealed some mind blowing discoveries the Navy made while exploring the Arctic. Musk, who funded the project, revealed that this expedition was simply a wildcat project; no one was certain what they'd find or if they'd even find anything at all.

When this documentary started the narrator said, 4 times, that they were exploring the Arctic regions. Then, at 2:28, (2:25 by the Transcript) it is said they were exploring the Antarctic regions. I wondered how a documentary, backed by the billionaire Elon Musk, could be so far off in the regions of the Earth he and the Navy were shown to be exploring. Quite an elementary mistake by anyone's standards.

The Nazi expedition perished after eating poisoned polar bear. Where on earth did they get the Polar bear from? It is a northern hemisphere animal and does not live in mainland Europe. I am not sure I would want to trust the factual accuracy of this video, given the laughable errors that I picked up on. 3 out of 10 for the comedy value!

This is the first step of learning more about our planet and how other organisms might thrive on harsher worlds.

When a new species is discovered the average persons first question is how does it taste.

The bigger issue is too many bodies will start affecting the area with heavy footfall and big machines that use heat based products. Engines need to be warm to work, people need to be warm to work, power tools generate heat and also need to be warm to work efficiently. What we need to figure out is how to protect the area whilst we explore it without further damage to it. We need to find a way to control large chunks of ice and put them back into place and keep them in that area to avoid the warmer climates. Liquid nitrogen maybe helpful, dry ice potential etc stuff that could handle the temperature without harming the area. We humans are curious but we need to consider whether it's curiosity or us humans being nosey and impolite to mother nature. It's a double-edged sword and we need to consider ourselves as the visitor, not to damage too much and to ensure safety of everything present.

You keep interchanging "Artic" and "Antarctic". You DO realize they are two very different places in two different locations.

This is why life doesn't completely go extinct when extinction level events happen it's because this particular plankton doesn't need sunlight when the sunlight gets blocked out
