Screw the critics. LP didn't "replace" Chester. And they never could. But their sound had a void, and they needed to fill it. Emily does an awesome job and Chester would likely approve.

I feel horrible for Mike. Chester was like a brother to him, no one will understand how much Chester means to Mike, and to have to listen to people say things like "Mike is trying to erase Chester" or "Mike only does it for the money". They waited 7 WHOLE YEARS before finding a replacement. No one is trying to erase Chester. Chester was their best friend and brother and he meant more to them than to anyone else in this world. They waited for the wound from Chester's passing to heal a little, they gave everyone the necessary time. People love Linkin Park and they don't want to see this band fall apart. The remaining members of Linkin Park are still young and want to make music and we want to hear their music. I'm happy they found a new singer and are still going after losing such a big part of their life and band, being Chester. Chester would have wanted them to keep rocking and the people who are harassing Linkin Park and think they are "Defending Chester" are only hurting him too.

I love how there are fans calling them Chester's songs when oh that's right there's five other people who wrote the songs as well. I almost idolized Chester through my adult years and his vocals but I love the band as a whole and the fact that they found someone to continue on the Legacy that Chester started is great and I'm glad they're returning

So many people forget that Chester is not even a founding member. The founding members of Linkin Park(Originally called Xero, later called Hybrid Theory and finally called Linkin Park) are Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, and Rob Bourdon. Joe Hahn, Dave "Phoenix" Farrell, Mark Wakefield(Singer) later joined up. Chester didn't join until 1999.

Yes, Chester is a great singer, but the band CAN and WILL exist without Chester. I thought Emily did a good job.

The entitlement of saying “Chester was Linkin Park”. No he wasn’t. Technically speaking, the creative core of LP is more Mike, considering he’s the main composer and songwriter for the band. Like, there’s a chance every single song you loved hearing Chester sing was actually written and produced by Mike. Give me a break.

I'll bet "Linkin Park" fans only ever think of Hybrid Theory and Meteora and completely ignore the 4 or 5 other albums they put out that sound drastically different from each other. The Emptiness Machine undoubtedly sounds like modern Linkin Park.

Honestly Emily its great for Linkin Park. I loved Chester to bits and miss him every day, but the band shouldn't be forced to stop because of this unfortunate event. Its their life and they have every right to move forward ❤️ and I have a guess that this album coming out will be amazing

We have literally let Chester die in front of our eyes and even sad, we haven't learnt nothing from it doing this to Emily.
I miss Chester too, the old songs don't sound the same anymore, but Emily in a so short time is kickin asses with the new ones. As Mike said, WE are replacing Chester, singing togheter with the band, not Emily. She's not a replacement, she's a new member.

Stop this vile hatred towards Emily. She is not trying to replace Chester. She is trying to do the job she was hired to do, just as anyone would. That job is to be Linkin Parks singer. LP could have died with Chester. They did not. Emily is the best thing that could have happened to them. She was the perfect choice for this band. If you don’t like it, leave.

The people hating on her are the same guys who called Linkin Park a sell out band just doing mainstream music back in the days. To be fair I also didn‘t enjoy many songs but I could never imagine to blame a band which gave me so much over the years especially in hard times and which decides to try a new direction. I‘m fully supporting the new Linkin Park!
