For the down with the ship commendation i just scuttled the ship whilst sitting in the capatains chair, great video as always!

A great way to get some of these commendations if you’re a new player is simply asking any crew you encounter for help, and you might get lucky. I got them on the first day of the season by offering a guy soloing a Fort of Fortune to trade maps and beds for the commendations. Then we made an alliance, finished the fort together and split the loot. Could have been sneaky or aggressive, but instead I got to experience a really wholesome session.

quick note, you get also get the mask by sinking another players ship and getting the map bundle that raises to the top of the water

It took me so long to get the mask because no one ever had a map bundle but finally today we met a crew that was about to get off and they were friendly so they let us have their map bundle

I actually managed to get a Map Bundle from a sloop docked at the outpost I was also docked at, then they must've disconnected because the ship randomly scuttled a minute later

Had a solo sloop pull up on me while voyaging. He said he needed a map bundle but I didn’t have any on table so I buried a chest for him 🙂

Just for people missing the sitting commendations. They are at certain times of day and you need to interact with the option to "take in the view". Make sure you arnt using an emote or somthing

For the Down with the ship thing, you only need to Scuttle your ship while you sit in the captains chair. You do not have to leave port at all. :)
