That was a great engine my 1977 ranger had a evinrude 140 I settled for it because they didn't have a 150 it never gave a minute of trouble my friends ranger was I Identical to mine with a 150 his boat ran one boat link faster than mine so it wasn't to much of a Sacrifice not for the years on trouble free service I got from it👍🏻

Have my motor line bulb everything since new in 1992. Disconnect hose at motor run till stops, remove carb bowl and drain replace. Hold hose straight above tank and push end of hose and drain fuel back into tank, drain fuel out of tank and put in car/truck whatever you have it will mix with current fuel and be used up. Everything is soft pliable and still working! I never keep fuel more than six months

Well, that crappy grey fuel line and cheesy primer bulb surely do go bad. The OEM stuff is expensive, but worth it. Those old fuel pumps are relatively reliable though...

I have a 150hp evenrude I now get spark but no fuel, I believe. Do you think it's my fuel pump?

That oil leak on the starter is going to kill it.(The starter) But interesting the fuel pump runs on vacuum. Never heard of that before. Quickest damn way to know if you have a vacuum leak I suppose, lol.

Had my fuel pump in my 1977 25hp Johnson in at least 31 yrs and still pumping. Of course, I don't leave fuel in it... LATER

The fuel pump has nothing to do with starting it. If the fuel pump is bad it should run fine off what’s already in the carburetor bowl and then shut off when it runs out of fuel.

Mine doesn't have the vacuum hole that usually sits against the crankcase, infact the motor doesn't have that hole and mounting holes either. How does thr fuel pump work then? 1986 johnson 70hp

Howdy from Sugarland Texas. I have a 90SPL Pre mix. I noticed that I am getting 2-Stroke oil residue all over the inside of engine cover and engine. However the engine runs great and never fouls plugs. What could be the problem ? Is this a sign that its time for a rebuild ? Even though it runs great.

I have a johnson gt 150 vro and I removed the vro and put a pump like the one your showing and it worked relatively fine for the first year and then started to act like it was starving for fuel occasionally so after researching I found that the bigger fuel pump should be installed on 100-250 size engines so I got one on Amazon and installed it now it won’t run at all . Any ideas ?

I have a 79 Johnson, I can start and run in gear but as soon as I let off it’ll die . Won’t start in neutral either . Has to be in gear . Any idea of what the problem is ?

That's cause they sit out in the hot sun day after day so everything gets sun roasted
