Kickstarter stretch goals everyone! That's what the big price tags are - a single person does NOT have to pay that much. The whole campaign raises that level of funding and the set gets unlocked

One thing that I hope gets made is a sandbox version of BG3. For online games of DND it would be really useful for running larger combats without having to roll hundreds of dice. Mods already allow for lots of customisation so game rules can be redone to match 5e or whatever homebrew rules the DM plays by

Since people don't seem to understand the amounts shown are goals. If all the people pledging cash to the kickstarter get the total amount raised to that dollar amount then that perk or addition gets unlocked. So it's like a community fundraiser. "We need a new roof, ok great, how much will it cost? "Well $3, 500 for just a patch, $12, 500 for a full replacement with average materials, or $20, 000 for the better full metal roof. We want the metal, but if we can only raise enough for the patch job then that's what we'll get"

as a Brazilian player, I would get an pirate copy of minecraft and build my own city, I already did it with my dungeon, is a 2 floor seewerwith a false hidra in the final, but I'm not a monster, I made a safe area there with beds and ovens

Someone please explain those price tags to me I'm new to dnd and I dont understand what ppl are meaning about kickstarters and/or stretch goals..?

Even if the party raises the money together it doesnt make sense to me?

Edit: I looked up the site and.. am I correct to assume that y'all mean those are goals? Like, EVERYONE that uses it can donate or pledge an amount to be donated later and the collective amount is added to reach those prices, and upon reaching the goals those things are available to anyone who donates?

Looking at those prices I'm pretty sure we're far from actually using that.
You could just use the map thing that DND shorts was advertising for a while. That's pretty cheap and it's more maps than you'll ever need

I understand that hexagons are prettier than octagons, but octagons just make more sense on a functionality level.
