Guys like this are the primary reason why we must become stronger advocates for our own health and the health of our loved ones. Most doctors are now no more that puppets, mouthpieces, and tools of the pharmaceutical industry.

From 13 to 18 on depo prevera, no periods what so ever. Got off and have dealt with multiple ovarian cysts, abnormal paps, the over growth and subsequent loss of an ovary and fallopian tube, debilitating depression, uncontrollable weight fluctuations, acne, etc, etc, etc… the list is to long to name. The doctors say it’s not birth control related but I have felt normal since starting them and even worse since stopping.

You can get osteoporosis from birth control beware ladies. I didnt know this until I was 3 years in on depo and they ordered a cat scan of my bones to make sure bone density was still okay. I got off right after. Never again. The doctor warned me of some side effects which were the usual no period, weight gain, spotting etc but nothing about osteoporosis 😭

ALWAYS do your research. I fell for it when my doctor gave me this speech. This crap messed me up. Anything that sounds good to be true probably is. This is no exception.

So as a man, you believe there are no real problems with long-term use of the pill. Have you read the inserts of any of the pill packs you prescribe? As a woman who took the pill for almost 2 decades on the advice of my male doctor, it infuriates me that you stand there and say there are no real side effects. Read the insert!!! The manufacturers clearly state there are MANY side effects!

so basically... once you go off of them... you need hormone therapy... in order to ovulate... i love how the term menstruate is used instead of ovulate... gives it that feel as if its not that big of a deal...

so if birth control pills cause your body to produce less estrogen... cant this be a significant cause of osteoporosis as the BCP user population ages?

The best birth control is just not eyaculating inside, how hard it is to understand???

This guy shouldn’t have put up this video. He doesn’t appear to understand the risks and has significantly glossed over all the risks. I am very disappointed. My sister in law got breast cancer at 40 from the pill which she had used for years. It caused breakthrough bleeding for me and reduced my libido which defeats the purpose. Don’t listen to him.

Why do men become lady doctors, this man is obviously unconcerned about the long term affects, it is hard to be concerned when you DONT have a uterus, and you don’t take HORMONE SUPPLEMENTS. I’ve been concerned recently, afraid that having such a great influence on my estrogen, or even taking MAN MADE HORMONES will throw my body out of working order. I know it’s rare to have negative affects from long term use but what defines negative affects? For me any affect on a system perfectly manicured by thousands of years of nature is negative. Just because you can still have babies, is it easier or better for you and your baby if you never mess with the system in the first place ?
