Image Engine provided digital environments, simulations, a full CG body, and costume animation in 150 shots on Marvel Studio’s Thor: Ragnarok.

Our core sequence takes place while Thor and his duplicitous stepbrother Loki return to Midgard to search for their lost father, Odin. A number of teleportations see them uprooted from Doctor Strange’s mansion and deposited on a Norwegian cliff face, facing out towards a placid sea.

Wow this was great to watch! Thor Ragnarok is my favorite Marvel movie to date. Thanks for posting and thanks to all the VFX artists and Taika Waititi and everyone who made this film a reality!

Was it necessary to cg a beige version of the same eyepatch onto Odin? it makes no sense. It didn't even look that good in the end. I was hoping that they would have fixed this for the blu-ray but nope. I'm pretty sure they fixed Thor's eye, why not this one.

A lot of unnecessary cgi in this film even though it's one of the best.

Is it really cheaper to use green screen and CG then it is to fly 4 actors and a camera crew out to Norway/Ireland? I assume it's a time and logistics thing.
