What I found stunning (amongst a lot of other things), is that every character seems to be fully modelled... bones + muscles + skin. I would totally understand this for the Hulk or creatures without clothing. But even for Hela and Thor you went so deep in subtle details ? That's madness ! Amazing job :)

You guys did a lot of work, great job. I have learned to love CG from these videos.

CGI = Complicated but Great and not Impossible

The vfx in this is mind blowing. It has re-inspired me to follow the vfx pathway that i'm on. Everything about this film was great and seeing the breakdown just makes it more spectacular!

So cool how you guys interact and answer questions in the comment section that others have asked. You guys are the true masters of this movie!

It's really cool that VFX companies go the extra mile to render all the passes for these showreels.
It's a lot of extra time and money beyond their brief.

I love how random things like capes are entirely CGI for no apparent reason. Would you just do that to control how they flap in the wind or something? At any rate this is amazing, especially how everything is rigged with bones and muscles and all.

I found the part where Thor arrives in a bunch of thunder very interesting. They used a digidouble to capture specular maps, normals and others. But you can see that in the end it's still Hamsworth.

Unlike Hella, who in many scenes was completely replaced. I believe this happened because she had an outfit with lighting conditions that would be very difficult to replicate in post-production. So it may have ended up being easier to replace the whole thing (with the exception of the face) so that the light and shadow conditions matched the scenery.

I gotta say you guys did phenomenal work on this film. I really appreciate your work on the Hulk especially. I really feel like I can see Mark Ruffalo’s mannerisms in the Hulk. One thing I was curious about was Hela’s bodysuit. The antlers I get being digital but was there a specific challenge with her wardrobe that warranted it to be CG? I didn’t even notice it in the film so clearly it worked.

Doing little cgi myself (srsly like rendering stills that look 4/10 ) I have nothing but absolute respect for you guys.

It boggles my mind and I simply can't comprehend how much work goes into this. Just seeing how much is actually CGI blows my fucking mind.

The music is from Hotline Miami 2 OST - In The Face of Evil

The music sounds like something that Daft Punk would produce.

As a vfx university student I enjoy seeing breakdowns from you guys and I'm also looking forwards to tomorrow morning, your head of talent Amy Smith is coming into my university tomorrow for the last day of Industry Week :)

Wow. Did you share ILM's CGI Hulk or did you build your own?

At 1:15, why do they keep her face while at the end they remake the CGI model of her face?

Honestly, this movie should've been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects but unfortunately it did not
