The comment made by the crew about the last mission regarding the 29 year old mom and her 8 month and 2 year old daughters made me smile. They had been concerned about the children in the helicopter - which of course was totally understandable and the men were all so pleased and proud when they delivered the mom and her kids to the care they all needed (the kid's grandparents were there to take them on). Watching them carrying the baby and toddler from the aircraft - both had been asleep most of the trip - they all looked like new dads, except they all knew how to handle their "precious cargo". Seems they are already dads, which helped! But they so happy it all worked out and the little girls had been such angels, I think they might have been motivated to go have more of their own! Good men, doing a hard job, prepared for chaos they would have to secure and then try to focus on the mother - and it all worked out so well. Amazing job, so well done! Thank you gentlemen!

We are glad to have the Coast Guard here in Oregon. We witnessed them rescue a tourist who was climbing on large rocks off the shore. The guy had gotten trapped when the tide came in. He as cold and wet from sea spray. It would possibly be 10-11 hours until the tide went down again. He was very lucky to have the CoastGuard stationed close enough to hoist him up off the rocks. They set him down in a road rest area where my husband and I were working. The Coast Guard also does a lot of search and rescue for fishing vessels. The bean counters wanted to close this station but the community convinced them the station was needed. It makes my feel good to know the Coast Guard is there when we need them. They are a good use of tax payer dollars.

You guy's are the GREATEST !! I'm sitting here crying from such happiness because when I was little, I remember my Mom Dying and when the Ambulance came to get her, the Driver was so nice to myself and my Sister's. It was a horrible experience at 7 years old, but I do remember being consoled by the Ambulance Personnel and feeling safe and secure because of them... Ty all for everything you did for those babies...

Coast Guard escorted cruise ship I was on to foreign port. I knew due to military training that there was some sort of threat towards us. Told friends I was with & they freaked out. Explained to them that we were safe because Coast Guard had our back. They immediately calmed down. When we disembarked ship we yelled praises to crew on Coast Guard ship. I could tell Sailors appreciated us recognizing them.
PS I’m a three star momma, 3 daughters, one Air Force, one Navy, one Army

This is so interesting to see. My dad is retired from the coast guard, we almost moved to that base ironically when he was still active duty.
Feels like i can understand his role in the coast guard and appreciate it more
